"When I got home, I went straight down the basement stairs.
Danny was sitting cross-legged with his back to the TV which was playing static snow.
He had a piece of tape on the bridge of his nose with an eyeball drawn on it.
He held out both hands, grinning like he had as a baby.
"This one's your heart" he said, loudly clapping his fingers against the palm of his left hand.
"This one's your brain," clapping then with his right hand.
His smile grew as he raised both hands in the air, waving them slowly from side to side.
The TV behind him responded.
The static changed patterns and shifted back and forth with his movement.
Danny looked with pure joy deep into my eyes, smiling wide with a grin that was down a few baby teeth.
Though I was a little startled, I felt so much love.
I have raised a champion."
